Frequently asked questions
The questions creators ask us most often before picking a platform.
How much do creator platforms actually take?
The headline fee is 15% on Fanvue and 20% on OnlyFans, but your real take-home also depends on payment processing (usually included), chargebacks and currency conversion. On $1,000 of subscriptions you keep roughly $850 on Fanvue and $800 on OnlyFans before taxes.
How fast do payouts arrive?
Fanvue releases earnings daily and most bank transfers land within one to three business days. OnlyFans holds earnings for seven days before they become available, then transfers take another three to five business days. Payout methods and minimums vary by country.
Can I be on more than one platform at the same time?
Yes. Neither platform requires exclusivity. Many creators run a primary page where most fans subscribe and a secondary page to test pricing or reach a different audience. Keep your content calendar and pricing consistent so fans do not feel short-changed.
What happens when my content gets leaked?
Both platforms offer DMCA support, but the depth differs. Fanvue includes an automated takedown service at no extra cost. OnlyFans works with third-party partners and some creators pay for a separate monitoring service. In both cases, watermarking and limiting downloads reduce the damage.
Do I have to pay tax on creator earnings?
Yes. Platform income is self-employment income in virtually every jurisdiction. Platforms report payouts above certain thresholds to tax authorities in the US (Form 1099) and, since 2023, within the EU under DAC7. Set aside 25–35% of gross earnings and talk to an accountant familiar with creator income.
